Drift-Boat Trip

starting at $450
Our signature offering and the trip we recommend for most first-time clients. Float 6 to 10 miles of the Lower Toccoa with a guide on the oars, casting to rainbows and wild browns. The drift boat covers water you can’t reach on foot and produces the best numbers days of any trip we run.

  • Anglers: 1 or up to 8
  • River: Lower Toccoa (or nearby tailwater depending on flow)
  • Includes: All gear, drinks, snacks, lunch on full days

BOOK A WADE TRIP

starting at $275

A day on foot with heavy guide attention. We meet at the access point, walk in together, and fish a single beat or a string of runs. The instruction-heavy option for anglers who want to leave the day a measurably better fisherman.

  • Duration: Half-day or full-day
  • Anglers: 1 or 2
  • Best for: Anglers actively trying to improve, smaller-water enthusiasts, anyone more comfortable on land than in a boat

PRIVATE WATER

starting at $375

For clients chasing a true trophy or planning a special-occasion day. We have access to private trout streams in the Blue Ridge area that are lightly fished, well stocked, and fish reliably even when public water isn’t cooperating.

  • Duration: Full-day
  • Best for: Trophy hunting, anniversaries, corporate hosting, rainy/high-water days when public tailwaters are off

Why Book With Tanasi Outdoors

Local team, multiple shops
Our guides live and fish North Georgia year-round. We operate shops in Blue Ridge, GA; Ellijay, GA; and Cleveland, TN, with one shared booking system and one team. Whichever river you’re closest to, we have a guide and a shop ready.
Tanasi outdoors is On The Fly Excursions & spotted dog outfitters

Tanasi Outdoors is the next chapter of On The Fly Excursions and Spotted Dog Outfitters. After years of working together, the two companies merged on 2026 to form Tanasi Outdoors. You’ll find the same experienced guides, the same boats, and the same commitment to exceptional days on the water.

All gear included
Rods, reels, lines, leaders, tippet, flies, waders, boots. Bring your own if you want to. If not, we have you covered.
True Blue Ridge knowledge.
Toccoa flows shift daily with TVA generation. The river that’s fishing best on a Tuesday morning may not be the same one fishing best on a Wednesday afternoon. That kind of local read is what a guide actually sells you, and it’s what separates a great day from a frustrating one.

Waters We Fish From Blue Ridge

The Toccoa is our home water and where the majority of Blue Ridge trips run. We also guide nearby waters depending on flows, season, and what you want out of the day.

Toccoa River (Lower / tailwater)

The reason Blue Ridge has a fly-fishing reputation. Cold tailwater out of Blue Ridge Dam, wild brown trout, stocked rainbows.

Toccoa River (Upper)

Above Blue Ridge Lake. Warmer freestone water, fishable in cooler months, different feel than the tailwater.

Private water

Lightly fished trophy streams within easy drive of the Blue Ridge shop.

Lesson FAQ

Quick Answers

Where do we meet?

For most Blue Ridge trips we meet at a Toccoa River access point or our downtown shop. You’ll get exact directions when we confirm your booking.
Absolutely, and we encourage it. Even a 10-minute stop the day before lets your guide check rigs, swap flies if needed, and brief you on the next day’s water.
About half of our clients each season are first-timers. The drift-boat trip is our recommended start. The guide handles the technical stuff; you focus on catching fish.
We fish in rain. We reschedule or refund for lightning, dangerously high water, or unsafe cold. If we cancel, you don’t pay.
Cabins on the Toccoa are the classic Blue Ridge fly-fishing trip. Downtown Blue Ridge inns and rentals also put you within 10 minutes of the shop. Tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll point you to a good local option.
