The Toccoa River is our home water. We run more trips on it than on any other river we guide. It’s a cold-water tailwater out of Blue Ridge Dam that fishes 12 months of the year, holds a self-sustaining wild brown trout population, and sits 10 minutes from our Blue Ridge shop. Whether you’re after a numbers day on rainbows, a shot at a trophy brown, or your first time on a drift boat, the Toccoa is the river to book.
Book a trip: Call or text (423) 715-9623, or reserve online. Toccoa weekends in spring and fall book 4 to 6 weeks out.
A full 8 hours on the river. Float 6 to 10 miles of the Lower Toccoa with a guide on the oars, with a midstream lunch break on a gravel bar. The full day is our most-booked Toccoa trip. Best shot at numbers, the most water covered, and the trip we recommend for out-of-town anglers.
First-timers, couples, anyone who wants the most water covered
A focused 4-hour float covering the best water for the day’s conditions. Half-days work well for locals, anglers fitting in a trip around other plans, or families with kids who need a shorter window. Same boat, same gear, same guide attention as a full day.
Locals, half-day getaways, families, anyone short on time
A day on foot with heavy guide attention. We meet at the access point and fish a beat or a string of runs together. Wade trips are the instruction-heavy option and our recommendation if you want to leave the day a measurably better fisherman.
Anglers actively trying to improve, smaller-water fans, anyone more comfortable on land than in a boat
For clients chasing a trophy or planning a special-occasion day. Private water in the Blue Ridge area is lightly fished, well stocked, and reliable even when the Toccoa isn’t cooperating.
Trophy hunting, anniversaries, corporate hosting, rainy or high-water days
Our guides fish the Toccoa more days a year than any river they guide. Same-day flow read, same-day fly selection, real local knowledge.
Our Blue Ridge shop sits 10 minutes from the typical Toccoa launch. Stop in before your trip for last-minute flies or a conditions update.
Tanasi operates shops in Blue Ridge, GA; Ellijay, GA; and Cleveland, TN. One shared booking system, one team. If you want to extend your trip and fish another river on a second day, we can build it.
Same guides, same boats, same standards. The Tanasi brand reflects an expanded company with a new line of technical apparel built alongside the guide service.
Every rate on the rates page. No add-ons, no fuel surcharges, no rental fees. Show up with a license and sunglasses.
Rods, reels, lines, leaders, tippet, flies, waders, boots.

Yes. The Toccoa is one of the best beginner rivers in the South. Start with a drift-boat trip. The guide handles the rigging and reading water; you focus on casting and catching.
Absolutely. Half-day drift trips work well with kids. Tell us their age when you book and we’ll match the day to their attention span.
Our Blue Ridge shop at 500 East Main Street is about 10 minutes from typical launches.
We plan every trip around the TVA generation schedule. Generation actually makes for better drift-boat fishing in many sections. Your guide reads the flow and picks the day’s water accordingly.
We fish in rain. We reschedule or refund for lightning, dangerously high water, or unsafe cold. If we cancel, you don’t pay.
Spring and fall weekends book 4 to 6 weeks out. Weekdays open up faster.
