“Thanks for checking out Tanasi Outdoors. Our guides know the trout water around our waters inside and out, and they are some of the hardest-working, most genuine people you will meet. They love to cut up, have a good time, and put in the work to get you on fish. We love sharing this part of the world with our guests, and we hope to share it with you, too.”
The Toccoa River is home to our guided trips. We launch drift boats on the lower Toccoa tailwater, fishing a stretch that holds trout year-round.
The river starts in the Chattahoochee National Forest, flows into Blue Ridge Lake, and resumes below Blue Ridge Dam. The dam releases cold, clear water, creating ideal habitat for trout. Water temperature and flow remain consistent, ensuring healthy insect populations and reliable fly fishing.
The upper Toccoa offers seasonal opportunities as well, with a Delayed Harvest section for catch-and-release fishing from November to May. Between the tailwater and upper river, the Toccoa provides high trout counts, active hatches, good dry fly chances, and beautiful scenery. It’s a short drive from Chattanooga and Blue Ridge, making it a top trout fishery in the Southeast.
